International Day of Women & Girls in Science 2023

To celebrate International Day of Women & Girls in Science on Saturday 11th February 2023, we are showcasing some of the amazing female students in our department, the vision for their women's health research and who or what inspires them.

PhD Student of the Year 2022 Winner!

The winners of the Postgrad Awards 2022 have been announced and we are delighted to share that our DPhil student Josephine Agyeman-Duah has won PhD Student of the Year. The award recognises the individual PhD student who has become an excellent and inquisitive researcher, who is an integral part of their research group, someone who encourages and supports more junior members of the team, and works alongside the research community more widely.

Menopause Workplace Pledge

We are pleased to share that the Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health has signed the Menopause Workplace Pledge. This is a new campaign by Wellbeing of Women that calls on organisations to commit to recognising that the menopause is a workplace issue, and that women need support, as well as talking respectfully and openly about the menopause, and actively supporting and informing colleagues.

Engaging schools with STEM - Bronze Employer Award

Celine Jones and Kevin Coward - key senior teaching staff for the Dept's MSc in Clinical Embryology, have been awarded a Bronze Employer Award for their excellent engagement with local school children interested in careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Dr Bec Dragovic wins Most Acclaimed Lecturer Award

Multi-centre collaboration awarded NIH grant funding for endometriosis study

Funding for a five-year, $3 million multi-centre collaborative study into the causes of endometriosis has been awarded by the US National Institutes of Health to Oxford Professors Krina Zondervan and Christian Becker, Directors of the Oxford Endometriosis CaRe Centre.
