The National Institute of Health (NIH) has awarded a Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Ovarian Cancer to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Texas.

The value of the award is $8.7 Million over 5 years. Congratulations to Professor Ahmed who is a co-investigator on one of three programs that are supported by this prestigious award. The program aims to test the therapeutic value of SIK2 inhibitors in ovarian cancer patients.

Our research at the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology explores the molecular mechanisms that drive Ovarian Cancer cell growth and examines which targeted therapies can be utilised to improve the treatment of women with Ovarian Cancer.
