Seminars and Events

There are a wide range of different departmental, divisional and University-wide events throughout the year which are open to graduate students, including:

Departmental Seminars

NDOG runs departmental seminars once a week, covering a range of different subjects. This is an excellent opportunity to find out about the different research that is going on in the department, and a chance for you to have a go at presenting your own work.

Graduate Student Symposium

The Graduate Student Symposium is a student-run event which takes place every November. It provides students in NDOG with an opportunity to practice presenting talks and posters to a friendly audience. There are also prizes to be won!

Department Away Day

NDOG students are also invited to take part in our annual departmental away day, which is run for all members of the department. This is usually a combination of talks in the morning, with a fun, team-building activity in the afternoon, for example, a treasure hunt or punting.

Medical Science Division and University Events

The MSD also runs events such as their annual DPhil Day, which provides an excellent opportunity for inter-departmental networking. The University runs an annual ‘GRAD Challenge’, which involves DPhil students across the whole University in a challenging three-day workshop.
