Research Midwife

  • Clinical Midwife on Delivery Suite
  • On-site training provider with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the Third World

In 1976 I qualified as a nurse and worked in surgical/medical and A&E wards.

I then moved to Oxford and in 1983 qualified as a Midwife at the John Radcliffe Hospital. I have worked mostly as a midwife on delivery suite, but have also spent some time in the community.  I have also been interested in research and how it affects my work.

I worked on the Oracle trial based at Leicester University (Preterm antibiotic uncertainty study) between 1998 and 2003.

Since 2009 I have been part of the Intergrowth 21st team based in Oxford.
