DPhil Student

I am a DPhil Student under the supervision of Dr Ingrid Granne and Dr Jen Southcombe, funded by the Postgraduate Scholarship Program of The Rafael del Pino foundation. My research focuses on the role of extracellular vesicles on embryo implantation, specifically the influence of seminal fluid and embryonic extracellular vesicles on endometrial receptivity and maternal immune tolerance. Our aim is to discover a potential treatment for couples who have recurrent implantation failure.

I am a member of the ‘Society of Reproduction and Fertility’ (SRF) and of the ‘Society of Spanish Researchers in United Kingdom’ (SRUK). I am also a team member (Secretary) of ‘Project Access Spain’, a branch of ‘Project Access’, a non-profit organisation that helps students with the admission processes to the world’s best universities.

I have a BSc in Biochemistry (2010-14) and completed a Research Training Program in Biochemistry and Biomedicine (2012-14) at The University of Navarra, Spain. During the Research Training Program I worked in the Cardiovascular Department at The University of Navarra and undertook my final research project on development in the Department of Biochemistry at The University of Hong Kong. I obtained an MSc in Clinical Embryology (2014-15) at The University of Oxford. My MSc research project investigated seminal fluid extracellular vesicles modulation of endometrial epithelial cell activity, and I was awarded the prize for the best research project.
