I studied Midwifery at Oxford Brookes University and have enjoyed working as a Midwife in the John Radcliffe Hospital since 2004. I have worked in all settings of midwifery care, but was initially interested in research following my role as a Bereavement Midwife on Level 7.
I joined the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2008 to help create a Biobank of pregnancy samples. The Oxford Pregnancy Biobank with 70,000 samples, has enabled researchers to establish new diagnostic biomarkers for pre-eclampsia and pregnancy related problems.
- Champion Midwife for the CRN Thames Valley & the South Midlands
I currently work on all Obstetric and Gynaecology Porfolio studies, in all areas of patient recruitment and data collection.
Maternity studies include trials associated with pre-eclampsia, intrauterine growth restricted babies, cholestasis, epilepsy, and obesity in pregnancy.
Gynaecology research trials include studies into re-current miscarriages, endometriosis and fibroids.
